Our primary focus is connecting families & schools!
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT PLANNING
Each year, we create and review a Family Engagement Plan to support strong partnerships between school and home. We listen to family feedback and look at what’s working to find better ways to stay connected and involved. Together, we make sure families feel welcome, informed, and part of the school community.
FAMILY COMMUNICATION & SURVEYS
Our team helps make sure families stay informed and have a voice in our schools. We manage important surveys like the Start of School Survey, Parent Survey, Culture & Climate Survey, and others throughout the year. We also help plan events and make sure the Annual Parent Involvement Calendar is completed. Your feedback helps us improve and grow together!
PARENT INVOLVEMENT & VOLUNTEERISM
Alexander City Schools has a rich history of parental involvement and volunteerism. Our goal is to engage families and the community to promote opportunities for parents/ families to be present for their students, volunteers to find the best way to use their talents in the schools, and to envision new ways for our students, families, and community to be connected.
WE ARE ALSO SUPPORT...

Empowering Families is at the heart of family and community engagement. We support families in having regular, two-way communication and taking part in planning, advising, and decision-making to help improve student success. To support this, we occasionally offer parent workshops and leadership training to help families stay informed, involved, and confident in their role.

Each school hosts Parent Nights to bring families, students, and staff together around important topics that support student success. These events provide parents with opportunities to better understand their child’s progress, what they are learning, and how they can best support learning at home.

Our schools each have a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), which brings parents and teachers together to support students and improve the school community. Each PTO creates clear plans to help families and staff work closely and advocate for the needs of our children and schools.

Volunteers play a vital role in our public schools by supporting students, staff, and the school community. As part of our volunteer efforts, faith-based partners are encouraged to help by organizing volunteers and mentors, sharing district news, promoting enrollment, assisting with beautification projects, running school-based pantries, and leading clothing and toy drives. Together, these partnerships strengthen our schools and provide valuable resources for families.

The annual Back to School Bash brings elementary schools together in a community space to welcome parents and families. Parents can pick up their child’s schedules, while community friends and partners share important information. Vendors also offer a variety of items. It’s a fun event with free food and activities for the whole family to enjoy!

Alexander City Schools has a Community Engagement RV that brings resources and support directly to our neighborhoods. This vehicle helps build relationships with families and community members by offering tools, information, and opportunities right where people live. Its goal is to strengthen and empower our families.

The Wildcats Be There parent newsletter is published monthly and reaches over 2,500 viewers. Its purpose is to share important information and helpful resources with our families to keep everyone connected and informed.
